Second amphibious assault group sent to Middle East

While it's not yet confirmed what they'll be doing there, some sort of boots-on-the-ground operation is pretty likely. FIFA Peace Prize conduct, I'm sure.

Maybe Iran has ship killing weapons dug-in along the straits that air power alone can't get to. Or perhaps they will go for the uranium. Most of it is 60% enriched (90% U235 is nuclear weapons grade). Iran could construct radioactive/dirty warheads and hit Tel Aviv and gulf oil production as a last-ditch move with all that uranium. Would not be all that deadly but very, very disruptive.

Either of those objectives seem difficult. Also, Iran currently holds several American citizens as hostages or wrongfully detained individuals, but I would be kinda surprised if Trump cares about them.

How "generous" of him.

And obviously, Russia's limp support of Iran is much less useful than US's support of Ukraine. Not to mention that the WWI-level intensity of the war not far from NATO airspace is a much more serious situation for NATO than the much less intense and more remote conflict with Iran that most of NATO is wisely sitting out.

Thankfully, most aid to Ukraine is mirrored by the Europeans, so it's not just the US providing Ukraine with intel, long-range missiles, air defense, and tanks.

And finally, Russia's private despair over aid to Ukraine and repeated underhanded attempts to subvert *looks at Orban* or quietly remove it *looks at Trump* is very much at odds with Russia's public statements that they're not worried about aid to Ukraine since they'll win regardless. Well, they're not winning and they are VERY worried. Putin is so worried that he often hides.

Anyone who trusts Putin to keep his word is a fool.

Guys, there are news that Iran hit a town hosting Israel nuclear facility. I see the usual sources, but in any case, can you confirm?

Yes, drunkenshoe, I see the same report at PBS. Dozens injured after two strikes by Iran in apparent retaliation for strikes on Iran's Natanz. But Israel claims they didn't do it.
