Yeah, back in 2000, lots of Americans decided that they like Dubya because he was a guy they could have a beer with, which is like choosing a cardiologist based on who'd be more fun to hang out with at a rave.

Then he launched a war on false pretenses, dragged our allies into it, and lots of people died. Plus, there was plenty of torture at a camp in Cuba. Then, amazingly, they decided they wanted that again and got him re-elected. The second time, the economy crashed.

Similar deal with Trump, just worse. These people haven't learned a thing and in fact would rather the whole country burn than admit they were ever wrong.

Let's also take legal action against the press or opposing politicians, pardoning criminals who support the administration and then fuck with our ability to hold elections after finding zero proof of widespread fraud. Happy Halloween.

A new study shows that the widespread fear and isolation caused by the immigration crackdowns that began in early 2025 had a significant economic toll on Chicago commerce, draining over $1.26 billion from local businesses.

"We see a 9% drop in retail and a 10% drop in restaurant visits, and it persisted for about a year," Wilson told NPR. "And it's not that it recovered after a year. People's behavior systematically changed after January 20, 2025." He says the city has yet to recover.

That's just the direct cost. Tourism, especially from Canada, is way down. No one likes being around fascists except other fascists.

Didn't he already make those sorts of promises and not deliver? The "we're gonna win so much, you'll get tired of winning" line got applause at the time, but no one's clapping now.

Fascists do three things and three things only: 1) rob the country 2) pogroms 3) war. The fact that these scum are even seriously considered for public office makes my skin crawl. Anyone with even a little bit of historical knowledge knows these people are bad news for whatever country they infest.
