Mexico is a fun place to visit as well when you're in a touristy area and don't have to see the cartels or slums.

Americans are by and large pretty friendly (though the Japanese treatment of Mexican football fans blows us out of the water) and we do have tasty food (a perk of being welcoming to immigrants is that they open up restaurants with amazing food), but our authorities are a lot less friendly than they used to be and there is a cost-of-living crisis squeezing the middle class really hard right now. It's almost as if there's some intentional effort by wealthy elites to force people into some sort of neo-feudalism.

It's not so much that the USA is a terrible place (at least not yet) but it's in the process of becoming one. By the time tourists notice that change, it'll already be too late.

I'd be willing to make a trade. We will give up the closely-guarded secret recipe of our tasty Ranch dressing in exchange for universal healthcare and more broadly, having our tax money being spent on us instead of being plundered by rich people and/or con artists (there's a suspicious overlap)

The White House just put out this breaking news: solar power generation stops during the night. Who could've freakin' guessed? (You know what's worse than renewable power not being available at night? It not being available at all because some rich idiot's calling the shots and stymies it every chance he gets)

They even used an infographic so it seems well-edumacaterated and not some drunken ramblings by a Big Oil shill or worse, some malignant narcissist who got pissy because there was renewable power near his Scottish golf course.

"despite the high temps" They're telling on themselves that they have no idea how renewables actually work. They're dum-dums trying to hoodwink the American public, and sadly, it often works.

I really, really hope this doesn't land with people because they make it sounds like renewables are the problem when the problem is actually a bunch of extra load on the electrical grid from all these friggin' AI data centers. That 4k drawing of Trump as Jesus doesn't just magically happen. Just because it takes zero effort or thought doesn't mean it takes zero electrical power.

Wasting power on AI-generated propaganda. Wasting tax revenue on corrupt deals. Wasting time when there's a climate crisis going on. Wasting American lives in war. Screw this admin and anyone who supports it.

Once upon a time, it the long-ago times when competent people were in charge, when things like Cyclosporiasis outbreaks happened, they used to discover the cause within a few days, issue the appropriate recalls and the problems DIDN'T get worse. This time it has become a literal shit-storm, of course. Meanwhile half the country is boiling and on fire, the other half is flooded with tornadoes or tropical storms. It's all such a hoax, LOL.

Trump (per Bannon), will declare (intentionally create) a national emergency before the midterms.

Playing politics with your power bill: Trump regime admits to canceling renewable power projects for political reasons alone

Everyone already knew it, but it's good to have it in writing.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration has acknowledged in court documents that it canceled $7.6 billion in grants for hundreds of clean energy projects “based solely on the political identity of the grant recipient’s state” — in this case, 16 states that voted for Democrat Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.

The statement contradicts repeated assertions by Energy Secretary Chris Wright and other officials that the projects were canceled because they did not adequately advance the nation’s energy needs or had other problems that made them a poor investment of taxpayer dollars.
They were lying. They always were and they always will. A clean sweep is the only solution.
Democrats and environmental groups seized on the court filing Friday, saying the administration had “weaponized” the federal government to kill good jobs and punish working families because of their political views.
Exactly. And the Dems had better make that crystal clear by the time November rolls around.
